rain heavy came to be after a dismal tour date where the promoter forgot to promote. we played to each other, made our twelve dollars then headed forward through the rain hoping that twelve dollars would see us through.
it's about getting out from under debt, but more than jsut paying off a visa. it's about social inequality and how expensive it is being poor.
lyrics
it costs so much being born it takes a lifetime to pay off
debts are set with troubled costs, got no way to cover loss
so i drive through fevered visions, the voices never listen
i don't know how i'd begin to pay it off
the rain so heavy maybe it'll wash away my sin
soak my debt to bleed the ink
let me begin anew
it's such a senseless waste of time
gettin' what i can turning yours to mine, soakin' away sometimes
the rain lets up still the sun don't shine
step by step no hands in mine
got no hands on the wheel sometimes
living hand to mouth on borrowed time
got no way to pay it off
